Send me someone

Lord, send me someone.

Send me someone who adores me.

Send me someone who cherishes me.

Someone who invites me to church.

Someone who wants to know how my day was.

Send me someone who wants to meet my family, learn where I came from, and why I am the way that I am.

Someone who doesn’t have to change me.

Send me someone who loves to take naps just as much as me.

Someone who is proud of my accomplishments.

Send me someone who prays for me.

Someone who builds me up instead of breaking me down.

Send me someone who will reassure my heart, and our relationship.

Send me someone who can love my heart just how it is.

Someone who wants me to meet their family and loved ones.

Send me someone who is so proud to call me theirs.

Someone who can communicate with me.

Someone who knows what they want.

Send me someone who isn’t afraid to show me off, instead of hiding me.

Someone who will do anything to make me happy.

Someone who takes their time to fix things when I am upset.

Someone who jokes with me.

Send me someone who makes me a better person.

Someone who looks at me differently than anyone else.

Send me someone who accepts my sassiness and stubborn attitude.

Send me someone who loves dogs and can forgive me when I bring home one too many.

Someone who knows how to take the blame and apologize when they have done wrong.

Send me someone who lights up when I walk into the room.

Someone who lets me cry, and is okay with it.

Send someone who won’t steal food off my plate.

Send me someone who is straight up with their intentions, problems, and what I can do to help.

Someone who forgives me for my previous mistakes.

Send someone who is loyal.

Send me someone who sees my heart for how it truly is.

Send me someone who loves me like You do, Lord.

I am in no rush, so when You’re ready… Send me that guy.

But first, help me.

Help me cope with my insecurities.

Help me become more patient.

Help me understand personalities that are unlike my own.

Help me love myself and allude confidence.

Help me get my priorities straight.

Teach me to be a Proverbs 31 woman.

Help me become the wife and mother my husband has always dreamed of… (the cooking needs some work).

Help me become more independent.

Help me become a light.

Help me establish my lifelong friends, my future bridesmaids.

Teach me to think before speaking, and not be easily-angered.

Help me see the positive in everything.

Help me be someone that attracts my future spouse spiritually, emotionally, and even physically.

Help me grow thick skin, and create a softer heart.

Teach me to put others before myself, take away my selfishness.

Teach me to listen, and not speak.

Teach me to listen to YOUR plan, and trust it.

Help me accomplish my goals.

Help me become a woman someone would be proud to be with.

Help me with my sassiness, Oh Lord… HELP ME WITH THE ‘TUDE.

Teach me to come to You before coming to others.

Teach me to search for a relationship with You before a relationship with a man.

Teach me to love like You, Lord.

Teach me.

I feel like there is a guy out there thinking the exact same thing from his perspective. That God will send them the perfect, selfless, Jesus loving woman you are trying to become. That is willing to work his hardest to be the best leader and man you could want. The guy that can love you because he first knows God’s love. And until then, he’ll be praying for you without knowing your name. And he will be working on his personal relationship with God and become so consumed with it he will only look away when he notices the ball of light that is you entering the room. In the end, we all want to be happy and with someone. I’m just glad to see there are people our age doing it right.

It’s been a work in progress! I still have a lot to work on, but I can’t wait for that moment!!

  20. bmince · May 28, 2016

As the mother of a son who had asked all these questions. As his former classmates are getting engaged or married, Why does he have to wait. And I always tell him it’s because either he isn’t ready or his future bride isn’t. Very refreshing to ready this. I have seen so many couples settle for the wrong one, only to be divorced in a year or two. Nobody wants that. Patience for God’s best is extremely important. He just finished grad school. Ever since he was little most girls have wanted to be his friend because he is such a good listener and loyal. He had girls saying, He will make a great husband one day.” And all the while these same girls settle for something less than God’s best. I tell him, he will know it when it’s right.

Thank you for sharing this, Bailee. In my last relationship I tried so hard to give her just what you described, because she was worth it. It was a very special feeling to have someone that I desired to do those things for. Part of that was a letter, which made her cry, a letter which she said was the nicest thing anyone had ever done for her. Shortly after she ended things with me. I don’t understand what happened or what she was feeling in her heart, but it hurt me. She meant so much and I hope time will change her mind about me. Point is, it’s very reassuring to know that there are people seeking what you described, it really touched me! The LORD is always at work, and never makes mistakes.

Your prayer is very similar to one of mine. And I joined a church, went to a Sunday School class, attended a Christian singles group and forgot the prayer I said… The person, similar to the one you prayed for will be by my side for our 18th year in July. God’s timing is perfect. In all things.

I don’t know you, but I do know that you will find the right guy. Dont settle for anything less, BUT we also have to remember no one is perfect. Patience obtains all things. Trust in God, and you will find your way. I myself and looking for the right person. Its hard to find a woman with the same morals and values as me but I trust God will send her my way. Just stay close to God and he will make all things good. Love everyone and through your love you will find who God has set on your path. You give men like me hope. Keep it up.

    God Bless,

This is awesome! A friend of mine shared this on Facebook, and as I went to read it I couldn’t help but notice how pretty you were! I’m not sure where you’re at in life, but one thing that helped me a lot was joining a bible study group at my school. Being a quiet person, it allowed me to get connected with great people and I was able make some awesome friends who wanted to grow in the Lord and help teach each other and give input at our bible studies. Although I grew up in a “church family” I never really fully grasped what it meant to be a Christian, but since joining the campus fellowship group and going to bible study, I’ve learned so much and have really felt the Lord’s love for me, and I have become a reborn Christian and I couldn’t be happier! It’s crazy how your life can take so many different twists and turns and ups and downs, and then down the road the Lord makes sense of it all because HE has the plan. I hope you find the same things I have and I hope you find a bible study group as well, because it makes everything so much easier. You start to form better habits and get rid of old, bad habits, and it becomes easier with friends who live a Christ-centered life. Thanks for sharing this post, I’d love to hear your testimony sometime!

  37. Kasey Ingram · May 30, 2016

Wow, I want to thank you for who you are. I hope many others see this and get inspiration from these wonderfully portrayed words. What made this so wonderful was the evident Godly inspiration. I pray that you get opportunities to influence others more and more people because it will better the Kingdom. The sense of humbleness is what I think truly makes it great, it is what we are called to do. Honestly this gave me great hope that I will be blessed with a wife that has these qualities so thank you. Lastly, if this is the truth of your heart, you will be blessed with a husband who has mirrored qualities and you will be a blessing.

  38. Giuseppe · May 30, 2016

Okay, so now that you have asked for all those requests. Why don’t you start looking at your life and see who all gives that to you. I can assure you that nothing is ever missing because true love withholds nothing. We are not here to seek love and there is no search to be done. We should rather break down the barriers we have built-up against it.

Reaffirming what all these others have said: you’re seeking wisely.

Though we all have different paths, my journey was similar. I asked the same, my heart longed for the man God chose for me. I watched friends marry, have babies, some divorced, others had more babies.

At 26, my old friend reappeared. We started dating. And we’re married a year and a half ago.

At the age of 31, I married my best friend. He loves Jesus, our dog, and pie. We belly laugh on a regular basis. He’s not afraid to tell me how he feels, or when I’m wrong. And, he gets as good as he gives. He’s my other half and I’m beyond blessed to spend my life with him.

So, ask these questions. Know yourself. Know the Lord. Because when you meet the right man, you’ll see yourself in his eyes.

Would you believe that right before I met my husband, I had a really bad that left me numb where men were concerned. One day at lunch, there was a church around the corner of my office. I found myself going inside and sitting down and just talking to God. I told Him that I was not doing well in the men department and if it was meant for me to remain single, I was ok with that but to please make me a happy single person. And, if by chance I was supposed to have someone in my life, I wanted Him to pick out this person..I wanted someone who would go to church with me and have values and morals and be kind to my family and friends. I wanted someone who had a job and was willing to work hard to provide a decent honest living. then I said thank you Lord for listening to me and letting me cry and just vent my frustrations over life.
I walked out of that church and went back to work. It was a Friday afternoon. On Monday, I got a call from my boss asking me to help with a project after work. So I agreed. During this project, we had to entertain several clients from out of town. The host of the hotel where they were staying was a friend of my boss. I was introduced to him that evening. I wasn’t too particularly fond of him so I kept my distance. As the evening went on, we sat down and started chatting..talked about world events..nothing really personal. As days and weeks went by, we would talk many times off and on..just getting to know each other as friends. About 6 months later, he finally got around to asking me to a dance. We had a great time but again, I kept my distance. As the relationship progressed, I remember asking him if he had ever been to counselling . He said no but would go if it was ever needed. I had been going to a counselor to learn how to deal with life in general. So I asked him if he would go with me. It was the start of a fabulous relationship. We learned so much about each other through all the discussions that were held. Within a year we were engaged and were married 4 months later. During our first year of marriage,,if we hit a to the councillor we went. We both had a lot of family issues and lots of baggage that needed cleaning out. We were willing to work with each other and get on the same page so we could be strong together. I am proud to say he is the true love of my life and we just celebrated 35 years of marriage. We are both in our late 60’s and I’m begging God to allow us to make the 50 year mark. He was a gift from God and it was the best gift I’ve ever received.
